What Is Dot and Dabbing?
Dot and dab, or dot dabbing, is the technique used to apply plasterboard adhesive to a wall’s surface. It is quick, easy and tidy compared to wet plastering, and it is used when you want to decorate the walls sooner.
Dot and dabbing insulated plasterboard involves fixing plasterboard to a wall using adhesive. Once the plasterboard is applied to the walls, it is followed by a skim finish so it can be decorated.
Also called dry lining, it is now the primary method of lining walls. Plasterboard can be attached to different surfaces including masonry or timber, but whichever surface is involved, this technique allows you to get a great finish in a short period of time.
